How Threads Account Creation Works
Threads does not have standalone signup — you must: 1. Have an existing Instagram account. 2. Download the Threads app. 3. Log in using your Instagram credentials. 4. Your Threads username matches your Instagram handle.
Since Instagram requires phone verification during account creation, your Threads profile is effectively gated behind an SMS OTP.
How to Create Anonymous Threads Profile
